There are ten ranks, of which most are divided into two sub-ranks (with the exceptions of ranks 4 and 7, which are divided into three, and rank 9, which is divided into four). Important rank-up intervals involve Hall of Heroes certification. When filled (all missions within that rank are completed), the player's knight will rank up and more missions will become available. Upon completion of a Rank mission, the Mission interfaces' progress bar at the top of the interface will fill by a fraction depending on how many missions are available within that rank. All item rewards are bound when earned via completing a mission. Recruit missions will automatically be marked as completed for players who crossed the chasm into Haven before release. All rank missions can be repeated by the player (except the missions in 1-1 to 1-4), but rewards will not be received from rank missions after the first time. Rank mission progression unlocks after the player navigates the Crash Site and talks to Rhendon in the Rescue Camp. Exclusive to prestige missions and shown on the mission's card.

Here's where it differs from PvE: in PvE, you need a full set (more or less) to get clearance, for PvP, a single piece of 2* or 4* gear is enough to bump your tier up to the next higher one.Ī single 5* trinket, even, will put you in Tier 3 lockdown games, even if you're only wearing proto gear. Tier clearances are only used in PvP to try to match players of similar gear levels together, and only in Lockdown, because Blast Network doesn't use any gear. Tier 2 clearance lets you go past Moorcraft Manor, and Tier 3 clearance lets you go past Emberlight. In the Clockworks, being higher tiers allows you to run deeper, harder levels.

If memory serves, you need a 3* sword, shield, armor, and helm to be allowed into T2, and 5* for T3.

Rank and Level are somewhat related, as higher levels/ranks require higher clearances (which you get, in the process of following the missions), but T2 and T3 clearance does not require any certain level or rank.

If you've completed the rank missions, you'll noticed you're told you've gained T2 and T3 clearance when you reach certain star levels of gear. There is a little difference between PvP and PvE, but not much.
