Saying that, a couple of quotes did make me sit up straighter. And 'AI', as it's talked about now, is merely a new accelerator of the darker side of human nature. However, with the exception of the Terminator-style autonomous weapons (hopefully!), it seems to me that all of these have been happening for years.
Financial crises brought about by AI algorithms. Weakening ethics and goodwill because of AI. Widening socioeconomic inequality as a result of AI. Social manipulation through AI algorithms. The not so good news is what everyone is worrying about: AI facilitates decision-making by making the process faster and smarter. AI has mass-market potential, it can be deployed across industries. AI augments the capabilities of differently abled individuals. AI operates 24/7 without interruption or breaks and has no downtime. AI enables the execution of hitherto complex tasks without significant cost outlays. AI drives down the time taken to perform a task it enables multi-tasking and eases the workload for existing resources. OK, about AI, inevitably, there’s good news and there’s bad news. Inspired by her ‘cone of shame’, following a recent trip to the vet (she's fine, thank you), I stuck my toe into the world of AI apps, and used the ‘Revive funny photo animation app’ to create this.in under three minutes.
